Book Review: Katerina's Hope

Lady Katerina Kastekanos believes Striker Wells is the other half of her heart. Assisting the High Council in talks of peace she struggles with deep rooted fears of abandonment, but can she be true to the man she has fallen in love with before her darkest secret can destroy any hope for a future with him? Before anyone can embark on the quest for the Firing Sword Katerina is kidnapped.

Striker Wells is son to Queen Briksanna and knowing Katerina is her best friend he does not feel ashamed of his love or his commitment to pledge his life to her. Before their lives can begin Katerina is kidnapped. Devastated, Striker searches for his lost love sworn not to stop until she is found. The woman he finds is not the same woman when she was taken. Will Striker be able to overcome his personal demons of abandonment to accept the man Katerina will need him to be for them to have a lifetime of happily ever after?

======================
I'm not sure where to begin with this series. I have such mixed feelings about it. Let's start with the good, shall we? Wonderful story. For those who like to jump right into the action, this might not be for you. For me? I really enjoyed the setting up of the story and of the characters. True, there wasn't a lot of action until about 65% of the way through the book, but I didn't notice because the story kept moving and because it wasn't action-action-action, it was more true to every day life, even if that life is in another realm. The bad? The author desperately needs to hire a better editor. While this book wasn't as bad as the first in the series, it was still enough to have me cringing more often than not. If you're bothered at all by use of the wrong words and things like that, don't pick up this book. It will drive you insane and you'll miss out on the amazing story that is happening. As for me, I'm going to hold onto hope that a new editor is found before book three is released (Did I mention I'm available?) and then pick that up to see what happens next. I'm invested enough now that I can't help but need to see it through to the end.
