Book Review: Love Food & Live Well

I am totally embarrassed to admit that I've had a couple of books sitting here for well, we're not going to say how long, just waiting for me to review them. I'll be honest. When the chaos of the past year hit, these were sat aside and over time, I just plain forgot about them. Today, they were brought again to my attention so I'm jumping in to get them reviewed before I move onto anything else!

I had a hard time, at first, getting into this book. Chantel writes in a very witty and personal style, but this is what I call a very God driven book and while that's great, it just doesn't work for everyone. When I first started reading it, it wasn't working for me. However, please don't let that put you off. We're all at different points in our spiritual journey and what didn't work for me then, would quite likely work for me now!

What I did love about this book is that Chantel speaks as someone who has been there. She lost over 200 pounds herself and in this book, she covers everything from exercise (including some of her own that she created!) to those mysterious topics like fats, proteins and carbohydrates. She explains them in a way that anyone could understand.

Throughout the entire book, the material is presented in an easy to understand format that sometimes feels as if you're just spending time talking with a good friend. It's my favorite style of writing (and one I hope I successfully accomplish here).  If you're looking for a book to inspire your walk with God while inspiring your healthy lifestyle changes, pick up Chantel Hobbs' Love Food & Live Well.
